E! revealed Thursday the full list of 2020 People’s Choice Awards nominations, with major projects in film, TV, music, and digital culture scoring huge notices from the fan-voted awards show over 44 total categories.
Leading the list of nominees on the film side are blockbuster theatrical titles that enjoyed healthy box office runs prior to the coronavirus pandemic, including Bad Boys for Life, Birds of Prey, and The Invisible Man, while streaming titles like The Old Guard, the Disney+ recording of Hamilton, and Eurovision also picked up nominations across the movie categories. Individual film stars recognized by the People’s Choice Awards include Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, Ben Affleck, Vanessa Hudgens, Issa Rae, and Will Ferrell, among others.
On the TV side, Grey’s Anatomy, Schitt’s Creek, The Bachelor, Dead to Me, The Masked Singer, RuPaul’s Drag Race, and Never Have I Ever also secured nominations across the board, with individual television stars like Rae, Christina Applegate, Sandra Oh, Jaida Essence Hall, Dan Levy, Jameela Jamil, Yara Shahidi, and Sofia Vergara scoring nods, too.
Lady Gaga made a strong showing in the music categories, particularly for her Ariana Grande collaboration “Rain on Me” and the single’s parent album Chromatica, while The Weeknd, BTS, BLACKPINK, Justin Bieber, Drake, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Swift appeared in multiple brackets as well.
